A waitress at Hooters claims she makes a staggering amount of cash in tips alone.
Leah Fennelly attracted an impressive 10.3 million TikTok views with a video which told her gratuity earnings during eight-hours work on a random Thursday.
“First three tips of the morning we have $3 cash and some change, $7 cash and some change and $8 cash in some change,”
Fennelly who wears deep-V cut Hooters T-shirt and the chain’s tangerine-coloured uniform and shorts then shows tips from other customers, including $6, $14 and $23 tips.
Her five additions were gathered from debit card transactions and included $31 and $50 tips.
The 23-year-old waitress thought she had secured her tips for the night a member of the baseball hall-of-fame sat at one of her tables.
“I literally had no idea who he was, but customers started going up to him and asking him for pictures and autographs,” the New York Post reports.
But the unnamed baseball “pitcher” ultimately gave her seven dollars.
This was offset by other customers who left tips ranging from $17 to $38.
After the shift, the waitress counted out her cash for her more than 117,000 fans and calculated she had earned $282 in cash (£225) plus $100 (£80) sent via CashApp from a regular customer making a total of £305 or $382.
Social network commenters on TikTok were astonished by her extraordinary payday.
“Lol I’m a nurse and you make more than a starting nurse in a 12-hour shift,” laughed a viewer. “I’m an engineer and this girl makes more than me lol, I’m never tipping again,” teased another.
Elsewhere a waitress in Georgia racked up $521 in a midday shift at the start if the year.
Kirsten Songer won gold in TikTok in June with a clip about how she transformed her A-cup breasts for work. This resulted in a $400 shift for Hooters, which she saved for her college tuition.
The waitress assured everyone who had left additional bonuses that she’s extremely “grateful” for every tip she gets whether it is large or small
“We’ve all been there, where we get a $0 tip and it sucks,” she said. “So, I’d rather get a $5, $6 or $7 instead of getting nothing. I’m grateful for everything that anyone is giving to me for providing them [with] good service.”
