The HoopsHype staff recently conducted a trade value rankings for the top 20 point guards in the NBA.
The list takes into account the player’s talent, stats, contract, age and agent. This is not necessarily ranking the best 20 point guards in the NBA due to these other factors in play.
For the Oklahoma City Thunder, both of their backcourt guards made the list, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey. Gilgeous-Alexander was ranked No. 7 while Giddey was ranked No. 17.
Let’s take a look at what HoopsHype had to say about both guards in terms of what their trade value is and why they think both are seen as top-20 trade value guards in the NBA.
No. 7: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
“Oklahoma City could probably get a package of picks similar to the amount they received for Paul George for Gilgeous-Alexander if they wanted to extend their rebuild. Look for the Thunder to continue developing him and their lottery picks and to start competing soon.”
No. 17: Josh Giddey
“Giddey seems to be part of the next great Thunder team alongside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and whoever they select in this year’s draft. He should rise through these rankings over the next few seasons.”
