The Honkai Star Rail 1.6 livestream is just about here. HoYoverse announced the next Star Rail version update overview will air on Dec. 15, 2023, introducing three new characters, including a long-awaited member of the Genius Society; a new mode; some welcome quality-of-life changes, and more ways to earn high-demand rewards such as Stellar Jade and Self-Modeling Resin. While it’s unclear whether we’ll actually get any news on the next major step of the Trailblazer’s journey, there’s still plenty to look forward to.

What to expect from Honkai Star Rail 1.6
Honkai Star Rail 1.6 introduces quite a few new improvements. There’s the usual set of new faces, including:
- Dr Ratio (no, that’s his real name) (5-star, Imaginary, Hunt)
- Ruan Mei (5-star, Ice, Harmony)
- Xueyi (4-star, Quantum, Destruction)
We’ll also get a new mode called Pure Fiction that tasks players with defeating waves of enemies for a chance to earn a fair few Stellar Jade. HoYoverse is improving the Hall of Memories as well, with more objectives and Self-Modeling Resin, and Pure Fiction and Hall of Memories will feature refreshed challenges every six weeks.
Whether we’ll see new story missions is less certain. We’ve been stuck waiting to depart for Penacony for nearly six months now, so hopefully, there may be some kind of interlude mission to make the wait a little easier.
