The Honkai Star Rail 1.3 livestream has come and gone, with plenty of details about what to expect in the next Star Rail update. There’s the usual three new characters, new events, some quality-of-life updates, and another new story chapter that seems like it might wrap up the Xianzhou Luofu story, or at least a big part of it. There’s a new area and some substantial changes to the Simulated Universe as well, the first time it’s received such a big update since the game first launched in April 2023.

Honkai Star Rail 1.3 story
With Phantylia and the arbor crisis safely behind the Luofo, attention turns to reparations and getting the system back on its proverbial feet. Expect a deeper dive into life on the Luofo, including the politics at the highest levels and a seething rivalry between Jing Yuan and Fu Xuan.
Honkai Star Rail 1.3 characters
Star Rail 1.3 introduces three new characters, and as we expected, they are:
- Imbibitor Lunae (5-star, Destruction, Imaginary)
- Fu Xuan (5-star, Preservation, Quantum)
- Lynx (4-star, Abundance, Quantum)
Lunae consumes additional skill points to strike multiple enemies in one turn, and his ultimate deals heavy Imaginary damage to one foe while offsetting his skill point consumption.
Fu Xuan reverses damage and tinkers with HP and absorbs incoming damage with her skill. Her ultimate dishes out Quantum damage.
Finally is Lynx, whose skillset HoYoverse was rather less forthcoming about. She uses food items to restore health, but that’s about all the team said.
Honkai Star Rail 1.3 events
Herta’s space station is still undergoing repairs, and the team needs a helping hand again. This looks like a fairly passive event, where you send combinations of characters on assignments to help the high- and low-ranking researchers complete the tasks they don’t feel like doing themselves.
There’s an event tied to the new Aurum Alley area as well. You’ll take part in a number of planning and logistics exercises and help decide whether the region accepts funding and aid from the IPC or stays independent and aligned with the local merchants’ guild.
What else is new in Honkai Star Rail 1.3?
The big new feature in 1.3 is an overhaul for Herta’s Simulated Universe. Herta and Steven Lloyd developed a feature that lets you relive the Swarm Disaster from ages gone by and uncover the truth behind it and the conflict between the Aeon of Propagation and the rest of the celestial gang.
The version update trailer teased at least one new Light Cone as well, for Nihility characters. Based on the design, it looks like a 3-star Light Cone, which is actually kind of a good thing, given how easy it is to superimpose those compared to the rarer weapons.
There’s meant to be a Trailblaze level increase as well and – something that Genshin Impact sorely needs – an increase for the daily fuel cap. It’ll also replenish more quickly, so you can grind for relics and materials more easily.
