A shocking incident unfolded on Christmas Eve when a Honduran gang member confessed to kidnapping a young Texas woman at gunpoint and making chilling threats. The 35-year-old illegal immigrant, Eduardo Javier Ordonez Godoy, allegedly forced the 22-year-old woman into her car at gunpoint as she was leaving for work in Haltom City.
After coercing her to withdraw cash from an ATM, Godoy drove her 22 miles away to Grapevine, where he tied her to a tree with her shoelaces. He then proceeded to threaten her with the possibility of being prostituted or having her organs sold, as reported by Haltom City Police Sergeant Rick Alexander.
Fortunately, the woman managed to escape and seek help from a nearby resident, avoiding physical harm during the abduction. The victim's car was reported stolen by Haltom City Police, leading to Godoy's arrest in Oklahoma City less than 24 hours later.
Despite the gravity of his actions, Godoy displayed a disturbing lack of remorse, with Alexander noting his smirking and giggling demeanor during the confession. The police revealed that Godoy had a history of similar crimes and had previously been deported to Honduras, where he was associated with a violent gang.
Currently held at the Oklahoma County Detention Center, Godoy faces charges including unauthorized use of a vehicle, possessing stolen property, and carrying a firearm as an illegal alien. In Haltom City, he is confronted with two first-degree felonies for aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery.
Given his immigration status, Godoy has an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer in place. The case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by individuals involved in criminal activities and the importance of law enforcement efforts in ensuring public safety.
