Dion Dublin has been flooded with support from fans and famous friends following the death of his sister.
The Homes Under the Hammer star, 53, shared the news his 'amazing sister Carmen' had sadly passed on Monday, paying tribute to the 'heartbeat & backbone' of his family as he announced her death online.
Former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison was amongst the celebrities who quickly rushed to send their condolences to Dion following him breaking the sad news on Instagram.
The former footballer took to the social media platform to share a snap of himself alongside his late sister and his three brothers, Eddie, Clem and Ash, on Monday.
"Yesterday we lost our amazing sister Carmen, the heartbeat & backbone to our family," the devastated TV star wrote to his 442,000 followers.
"Our hearts are truly broken, we will be lost without you."
Hundreds send the grieving star messages of support following his heartbreaking update.
Podcast host and former footballer Peter Crouch wrote: "Sorry to hear that Dion. Loads of love", while Vicky Pattison commented: "I'm so sorry Dion... sending you all so much love."
Presenter Kirsty Gallacher was another of the many famous faces to wish Dion well, writing: "So sorry to hear this Dion, sending love."
Just last year Dion told the Mirror about the close bond he shares with his family, and recalled treasured memories of their time together.
The youngest of five siblings, with sister Carmen and brothers Eddie, Clem and Ash ahead of him, both of Dion’s parents came to England from the West Indies as part of the Windrush generation.
While late mum Rose worked as a district nurse, dad Eddie - who’s now in his 80s - had the option to be a pro-footballer.
"At one point my dad had a choice whether to sign pro-forms for Fulham or go on tour," Dion explain in August last year.
"That was the choice. Go professional or go on tour as a bass player with Rod Stewart. It was a pretty amazing to choice to have. He chose to go on tour with Rod Stewart. Music was closer to his heart. He still plays now. He’s 82 and he’s still playing bass in a reggae band."
"We all play music. I play percussion, my mum [Rose], when she was alive, played the mandolin and we’ve got Clem who plays lead guitar," the former Manchester United player said.
"Eddie plays drums, Ash, my eldest brother is a bass player and Carmen used to play the keyboards.
The player-turned-presenter added: "I think if I’d taken up percussion earlier I might have gone for it...Percussion is my passion when it comes to music, and it’s something that’s come straight down from mum and dad."
Prior to becoming a recognisable face on TV, Dion plied his trade in the Premiership - playing for Manchester United, Coventry City and Aston Villa during his time in the top flight of English football.
Upon his retirement from professional sport, Dion joined the presenting team on the BBC One daytime show Homes Under the Hammer in 2015 - in addition to regularly working as a pundit for Football Focus, Match of the Day and other BBC sport programmes.
