A house was ransacked with thousands of pounds worth of jewellery stolen.

On Sunday. April 16 officers received a report of a burglary at a house on Lugsmore Lane in St Helens that happened between Tuesday 11 April to Sunday 16 April. Thieves broke into the house, ransacked the address, and stole a Cartier watch and two gold lockets.

Detectives have carried out a number of CCTV and house-to-house enquiries in the area and are issuing these images of the jewellery that they believe could assist with their investigation.

Detective Inspector Barbara Hebden said: “Thankfully no one was harmed during this burglary, but the victims were left very distressed, as items of sentimental value that mean so much to the family were taken.

“Burglaries can have a massive impact on the person and families affected as they have had their home invaded which is an awful experience to go through and can often have a long-lasting impact on victims
