Home testing healthcare firm MyHealthChecked boosted with new Boots supply deal

Cardiff-based home-testing healthcare company, MyHealthChecked, has been boosted with a major new supply deal with pharmacy giant Boots.

The tie-up sees its range of products going on sale at 120 Boots stores across the UK and online.

The Alternative Investment Market listed company said the deal covers two blood and urine sample kits, seven blood prick sample kits and five DNA cheek swab kits.

The tests and sample collection kits are available for applications such as thyroid function, food intolerances and sensitivities and vitamin profiles

In addition to the 14 tests under the agreement, a further six lateral flow tests will be launched online and in more than 800 Boots stores. These are done at home without needing to send a sample to the laboratory with the result is provided on the lateral flow device.

Following the announcement the firm’s share price climbed nearly 20%.

Penny McCormick, chief executive of MyHealthChecked, said: “We are delighted to be working with Boots with the launch of our extended portfolio of at-home tests online and in stores, whilst demonstrating execution of the next stage of our strategic plan. Our tests reflect a change in consumer needs as we see more customers take their health into their own hands. Following the launch of our extended product portfolio, our focus will turn towards ongoing customer guidance as we self-fund our investment in the evolution of our technology platform.”
