A home owner was left upset after a bloody “Keep Out” sign and a grim reaper were inadvertently left in their property listing.
A RightMove listing for a three-bedroom property in Nottingham shows the house comes with all the usual amenities – as well as a couple of ghoulish extras.
It is thought that a current resident forgot to remove a couple of Halloween decorations before taking photos to help sell the house.
The listing swiftly went viral on social media, with one asking if the grim spectre of death was waiting for the new owner.
The property in Clifton, which has an asking price of £180,000, has plenty of natural light – but it was the grim reaper lurking at the window that caught most people's attention, along with the blood-coloured “Keep Out” sign by the fireplace.
The New York Post reported estate agents with Bairstow Eves as saying that the owner was quite unhappy when he realized the current residents had forgotten to remove the horror decorations before taking listing photos, with concerns it might affect the market value.
Social media users were quick to make jokes about the situation.
“Do you think that is part of the Halloween theme, or the seller is just a little bit ‘odd’?” wrote one.
“Is the grim spectre of death waiting for the new owner?” questioned another.
Others defended the seasonal quirks, admitting that they had also left decorations up far longer than is considered acceptable.
“Seller is probably me. Still have Halloween window stickers up from last year as well as our ‘Santa stop here’ window sign,” said one.
A second added “It took three years before I agreed to take down the Halloween bat garland.”
