A home understood to be linked to gangland hood Steven 'Bonzo' Daniel has been rammed by a car in a shocking late night incident. The vehicle also caught fire after smashing into the plush three-bedroomed £340k villa in Bishopbriggs which Daniel, 42, is said to share with partner Avril Connell, 43.
Pictures from the scene today show the badly damaged house on John Marshall Drive, with the door of the property boarded up as debris litters the ground outside. The wall of the porch at the property has been partially caved in by the force of the crash and tyre tracks can also be seen on the grass in the front garden.
Emergency services raced to the scene after the drama unfolded at around 9.45pm on Tuesday night. Police officers and fire crews both attended the incident. The car involved was towed away from the street early this morning.
Cops have confirmed they are now investigating the crash and officers are now appealing to the public for information that may help to establish the circumstances around the incident.
Bonzo, who is also known as Steven Peebles, suffered grotesque facial wounds after being attacked with a machete following a high-speed car chase in May 2017 after a wave of violence between the Lyons and Daniel families erupted the previous December.
The Bishopbriggs property was under police guard during the attempted murder trial of those behind the attack on his life. He later tried to sell the home in 2019, but it was reported that the purchase had fallen through.
At the time, Bonzo, nephew of late crime boss Jamie Daniel, had attempted to buy a half-million pound new build with bulletproof glass and a secure safe room on the outskirts of Glasgow, but the deal was blocked at the last minute after senior management at the developer's intervened amidst concerns for neighbours.
