Home Bargains shoppers swoon over £30 heated throw that costs '1.5p an hour to run'

Home Bargains fans have been rushing to stores to snap up a heated throw that they say "heats up quickly" and costs literal pennies an hour to run.

With it being deepest winter, households will be looking for ways to keep that bit warmer at home. However, the cost of living has forced many money-conscious shoppers to look for more economical methods of heating that won't rack up the heating bill.

One such item that shoppers have been rushing to buy over the past few months have been electric heated throws and Home Bargains is currently stocking a range of them for just £29.99.

Originally shared to the HotUKDeals website late last year, the heated throw was quickly a hit with shoppers who praised it for helping them to stay warm for less.

When asked about how much it would cost to run, one shopper said in response: "I think this one is 40W or 60W, so say its 50W then at 34p Kwh would cost about 1.5p an hour to run. Mine is 120W and can feel the heat coming through after 5 mins and maybe 15 mins to get to full temp, so would imagine this one takes quite a lot longer?"

When we were last in our local Home Bargains, we spotted that the budget high-street retailer was stocking its own-branded Electric Heated Throw that has been hailed by shoppers for its fast heat up time and cheap running costs.

The soft and cosy grey blanket is perfect for beating off the chill as it comes complete with six different heat settings and a four hour automatic shut-off feature for safety. It also has an even heat distribution, meaning you can keep your whole body warm.

However, other shoppers have said that it heats up quite quickly, with one saying: "It heats up quite quickly too love it."

While another added: "Got 2 Willenhall THANK YOU. it has heated quickly and I think it’s very warm. I have started it on 6 , then reduced it. Am happy."

Despite being posted last year, the £29.99 Electric Heated Throw still seems to be available in-stores and online. As we spotted this one in our local Aberdeen store, we would recommend checking with your local store for stock availability.
