Home Bargains selling £18 makeup for just £2 but not all shoppers are convinced

One shopper noticed that their local Home Bargains store had started selling makeup which usually costs around £18 for just £1.99.

The bargain retailer has begun stocking WUNDER2 WUNDERKISS Lip Plumping Gloss and the keen-eyes customer was quick to share the news online.

The product description on the WUNDER2 website states: "Get the glossy look you're going for with a plumped effect, highly pigmented colour and a high-shine finish.

"Formulated with Hyaluronic Acid, this gloss is anything but sticky or drying!"

Sharing details of the bargain lip gloss on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, the shopper wrote: "In home bargains £1.99 in Boots for £17.99".

Before long, the post had attracted more than 1,700 likes and over 1,100 comments from fellow consumers sharing their thoughts.

One said: "This is amazing I bought it other day".

"I bought this the other day not tried it yet but my friend gave it a thumbs up," a second shared.

"I pick this up the other day it’s good," revealed a third.

Another simply said: "I need this".

"This is like the one I use," commented a fifth.

A few members of the group spoke out against the lip gloss, however, though some argued that it was still good value for £1.99.

"I don't find it any good, my daughter doesn't either," one dissatisfied shopper said.

Opinions about the product were split (Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group)

A second posted: "Personally I wouldn't rate it, it's not very good at all, nice lip gloss but doesn't plump your lips at all, but suppose for 1.99 nice lip gloss".

"It doesn't plump ur lips but good for a lip gloss lol," stated a third.

A fourth shared: "I bought it, doesn’t really plump that much at all. Just makes your lips nice and pink so they stand out more than usual. But for £1.99 it’s alright wouldn’t dream of paying £17.99".

Another agreed: "I wasn’t particularly impressed. Probably why it’s in HB for £1.99. However still a nice lip gloss. At that price worth a try".
