Home and Away’s Sophie Dillman and Patrick O’Connor’s brand-new lives in London as they look to new careers

Home and Away’s Sophie Dillman and Patrick O’Connor have revealed all in their new-look lives living in London.

The Ziggy Astoni and Dean Thompson actors moved from Australia earlier this year, taking up residence in the UK capital.

They stressed that they are focused on travelling now and don’t have intentions to return down under for a while, RSVP Live reports.

Sophie has been trying new pursuits and even writes for Yahoo in Australia.

She told RSVP Live: “It’s really exciting. I’ve always wanted to have a go at that sort of thing and use that part of my creative mind, but I’ve never really had that opportunity.

“I took a leap of faith and asked if I could potentially do that. I asked Yahoo and they were very supportive and jumped on the idea. It’s been very fun and I’ve really enjoyed using a different part of my creative brain and challenging myself.

“I really hope it continues or I potentially get some other work from it.”

She said she isn't going to fully give up acting and writing, as she loves them both.

Patrick described himself as a terrible writer and informed that he worked in a photographic studio before Home and Away.

“I always had the idea that I might run a studio like that at some point, but for now, acting seems to take up most of my brain," he said.

The pair have considered appearing in British television shows and movies, while travelling through Europe.

“We both would love to work here, in any and all sorts of creative work. We are just having a bit of a break before we get back into it. We hope to work over here and stay for a little bit," Sophie said.

On returning to Australia in the distant future, Patrick said: “Probably. Both of our families are there and at some point we want to have a family. While I reckon it’s awesome over here [the U.K.] you do need a support system. At the end of the day, we do love Australia.

He admitted that his partner "really misses the beach."

Sophie joked: “I’ve really lost a part of my soul not having a beach nearby.”

She added: “I definitely think we’ll eventually go home, but having said that, we have a lot more exploring to do.”

The couple will travel to meet with their fans and those who love Home and Away in Ireland this summer.

They will be in Wexford on 15 July, Waterford and Limerick on 16 July.

Sophie said: “We knew there was an audience over here, but we didn’t quite grasp the magnitude of it until we arrived. It’s been pretty amazing.”
