The General Presidency for the affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque raised the lower section of the Kaaba Kiswa by three meters from the ground, and covered the raised part with a two-meter wide white cotton cloth on all four sides in line with the annual Hajj custom for this year.
This measure is taken to keep the Kiswa neat and clean.
The Presidency makes sure to keep the Kiswa well maintained throughout the year, reflecting the Saudi authorities value and care for the Two Holy Mosques and their facilities, in particular respect for the Kaaba.
For his part, the head of General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, stressed that the government has taken good care of the two Mosques, their visitors and their facilities, especially the Kaaba, since the founding of the country. He said that efforts are exerted to facilitate the Hajj rituals for pilgrims.
