Hollywood star Luke Evans recreates sweet childhood picture in his old valleys street 40 years on

Welsh Hollywood star Luke Evans has recreated a sweet childhood picture as he enjoys spending time in Wales. The star grew up in the Rhymney Valley and is close friends with fellow Welsh star Charlotte Church.

Luke is best known for his roles as Owen Shaw in Fast & Furious 6 and Bard the Bowman in The Hobbit films. The 43-year-old has also had a very successful career on stage, performing in Rent and Miss Saigon, and most recently starred in the 2022 film Pinocchio.

Now the star appears to be enjoying time back home in Wales as he recreated a photo from his childhood. In the original photo, a younger Luke is crouching next to his cat and holding a stick.

In the recent photo, Luke is crouching in the exact same place however without the stick or cat. He also took the photo exactly 40 years apart and said it was a "nice memory", tagging Crumlin as the location. Interestingly there are also fewer cars this time round.

Luke captioned the post: "Took this pic today, 40 years later. My first cat (who's name was Puss) has sadly gone to the cat litter in the skies. Nice memory!! #kennardterrace"

The Hollywood star is not the only Welsh celebrity to enjoy spending time in Wales in 2022 as singer Charlotte Church enjoyed a dip in a Welsh pond, TV presenter Carol Vorderman has been hosting guests in a stunning 12 bed home in Anglesey and Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden enjoyed her hen do in Cardiff.

Luke's on-screen breakthrough role was in the 2010 Clash of the Titans remake. From here his career skyrocketed and he has returned to Wales to play roles. In 2021 he played Detective Superintendent Steve Wilkins in the Pembrokeshire Murders. This mini series followed the true story of the Pembrokeshire Murders and was filmed on location in Pembrokeshire.
