Awards season kicked off in Los Angeles on Sunday evening with the 23rd Annual Hollywood Film Awards at the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel.
The show has been held annually since 1997 and signals the beginning of awards season as well as offering a preview of highly anticipated upcoming films.
On October 29, the Hollywood Film Awards announced the honorees of the main categories, including Charlize Theron, Renee Zellweger and Shia LaBeouf.
The stars pulled out all the stops for the first major awards show.
Big Little Lies actress Nicole Kidman looked glamorous in a white gown with embroidered flowers.
Renee Zellweger won the Hollywood Actress category for her role as Judy Garland in the biopic Judy, a film about Judy Garland’s chaotic life. The Bridget Jones star wore a black gown with an oversized black and white collar.
Actress Charlize Theron received the Hollywood Career Achievement Award. The South African-born actress wore black dress pants and a black tunic embroidered with silver and gemstones. Her outfit came straight off of the Alexander McQueen Fall 2019 runway, although she opted for a tank top underneath instead of the original strapless bra spotted on the runway.
Theron posted on Instagram earlier in the day, showing off a picture of her spending time with her Bombshell co-star Nicole Kidman.
Sienna Miller arrived on the red carpet wearing a stunning Cong Tri yellow off-the-shoulder gown with a high slit as well as metallic heels, proving that it’s not quite fall yet in California. Her ensemble was also straight from the runway to the red carpet.
Booksmart director Olivia Wilde looked sharp in Michael Kors styled by Karla Welch. She wore black and white polka dot peplum blouse paired with a long skirt and forest green clutch. She posed alongside Laura Dern, who wore a low-cut lavender Markarian dress with a cinched waist and floral belt.
Actor Shia LaBeouf hit the carpet on behalf of his new film Honey Boy, which is based on growing up as a child actor and his relationship with his father. LaBeouf not only wrote the film but also stars in it, playing the role of his father.
LaBeouf wasn’t the only dapper gentleman on the carpet. Taron Egerton was honored with the Hollywood Breakout Actor award for his portrayal of Elton John in Rocket Man.
Pharrell and Antonio Banderas also brought their own signature styles to the show.
