The Arizona Cardinals have 17 players set to be unrestricted free agents if no new deals are agreed to by the start of the new league year next week. However, almost none of them will be highly coveted players.
In fact, based on Touchdown Wire’s rankings of the top 101 free agents in the NFL, only one Cardinals player even makes the list.
That player is receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown.
He comes in at No. 37.
Brown, a former No. 1 draft pick who has a 1,000-yard season under his belt, had a disappointing 2023. He missed the final three games of the season with a heel injury and labored through it for three games before that. He finished the season with only 51 catches for 574 yards and four touchdowns.
The numbers were misleading. While he did not have a reception after Week 12, the film will tell you another story. He regularly beat the players covering him, but Cardinals quarterbacks struggled getting him accurate passes for him to catch.
He has missed eight games in the last two seasons with foot injuries.
We will see if he garners interest from a team wanting to sign him to a long-term deal.
He would like to return. Kyler Murray would like him to return. The team would like him to be back but it will come down to price.
