Hollywood Brown explains what Chiefs are looking for in their WRs

The Kansas City Chiefs made significant investments at the wide receiver position during the 2024 offseason, and are set to get their first look at their new pass-catchers in action against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday.

Free agent addition Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown won’t see action against Baltimore after sustaining an injury in the preseason but sat down with Chiefs Wire for an interview last week to talk about what he has seen from Kansas City’s revamped receiving corps.

When asked about what Brett Veach, Andy Reid, and Patrick Mahomes are looking for from their receivers this season, Brown made it clear that it all comes down to the basics.

“They’re looking for guys that are going to get open who can make plays after the catch [and] just get separation,” Brown explained. “For me, that’s my game. That’s what I excel at, so that’s where I fit in. All the guys in the room, I feel like we all separate pretty good and catch the ball and make big plays.”

Last season, the Chiefs’ receivers struggled to do the little things right, and it cost Kansas City a chance to earn a first-round bye in the playoffs.

Though Brown won’t be able to show fans what he can do against Baltimore on September 5, he is sure to put on a show when he takes the field to make his regular-season debut after recovering from his most recent injury.
