Hollyoaks star Owen Warner says seeing his ex with other men on Love Island is “weird”.
The I’m A Celebrity runner-up dated Lana Jenkins in 2020 – and while he only has positive things to say about his former love, he won’t be tuning in to the ITV2 show.
Owen, 23, who plays Romeo in the Channel 4 soap, said: “She’s a lovely girl and people will love her, but I’m not going to be watching. I feel like watching your ex move on to other people is a bit weird.”
But the actor, who appeared in ITV reality show I’m A Celeb last autumn, says there are no hard feelings between the two. He added: “I wish her luck… no doubt she’s going to smash it.”
Before she entered the South African villa, make-up artist Lana, 25, told of her heartbreak following her “lockdown relationship” with Owen – and admitted she couldn’t watch him in the jungle afterwards.
Then, in the villa, she revealed her famous ex to the other Islanders during a game of Never Have I Ever after being pressed by her partner Ron Hall, 25.
He then said: “So basically, I’m competing with someone who’s just come runner-up on a massive show who’s an actor and I work in finance. Yeah, erm, sick. This is great.”
Lana and Ron, who coupled up in the first episode, were early favourites to win the show but Lana struggled seeing Ron explore relationships with other contestants.
The pair called time on their relationship this week after Ron had his head turned once again by newcomer Samie Elishi, 22.
On Friday night’s episode, with new bombshell Casey O’Gorman, 26, setting his sights on Lana, she began to open up to the idea of giving Ron another chance. But Samie warned her: “He’s a proper flirt.”
