Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson reacts to Harry's shock death and end of 'Starry'

Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson has reacted to the recent shock death of Harry Thompson, who was murdered by serial killer Breda McQueen.

Kieron's character Ste Hay is the ex-husband of Harry, and is yet to find out that he's dead.

Breda has been on a mission to rid the village of bad dads, and Harry was her eighth murder victim - amid fears she could now add Joel Dexter to the list.

Speaking exclusively to Mirror online , Kieron reacted to his co-star Parry Glasspool's shock departure from the Channel 4 soap, with fans not seeing it coming.

Kieron explained why the death possibly needed to happen, while admitting his "heartbreak" over the tragic farewell ahead of the reveal.

He told us: "Obviously I'm gutted because I won’t get to work with Parry anymore.

"Ste and Harry will never get back together and then Ste at this point doesn’t know Harry is dead, nor does the rest of the village.

"The only person who does is Breda, but surely there has to be a point where the village does find out, and I presume poor Ste will be last to know as usual, but who knows if that will happen."

Kieron added: "It's heartbreaking but a nice little shock for the audience. From winning Best Soap at the British Soap Awards this year, we're not just sitting back.

"It's every single week these massive events happen now, and sometimes we have to lose popular characters to shock the audience and keep you watching!"

Ste, Harry's dad Tony Hutchinson and the rest of the village are yet to discover his death.

Only Breda knows the truth amid her plans to now target Joel and even stepson Darren Osborne.

But the death could be revealed this week, after a body is discovered in the river outside the pub, with the police called in to investigate.

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6:30pm on Channel 4, with the next episode at 7pm on E4.
