Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter announces pregnancy after miscarriage heartbreak

Hollyoaks actress Jorgie Porter has announced that she is expecting a baby with fiancé Ollie Piotrowski.

The happy news for the 34-year-old star comes after she tragically suffered a miscarriage when pregnant with quadruplets. Jorgie, best known for playing Teresa McQueen on the Channel 4 soap, spoke about her heartbreaking ordeal on ITV’s Loose Women just last month.

Due to Jorgie experiencing a “one in 700,000” pregnancy she was classed as high risk while carrying quadruplets and went for regular scans - and it was during one of these that she received the news every expecting parent dreads. Recalling the devastating moment she was told she had lost all four babies, Jorgie sat with her fiancé as she told host Christine Lampard: “She then said, ‘you’ve got a miscarriage, you’ve missed, they’re gone’.”

Speaking to OK! Magazine , Jorgie revealed that the awful news came as a huge shock. “I’d not had any sign that things weren’t ok,” she said, adding that she had experienced “no pain or bleeding” and “still felt pregnant”.

Jorgie added that Ollie was also deeply affected by the loss, but that the ordeal had made the two grow closer than ever. “We know we’ll be with each other forever,” she told the Loose Women panel.

The star, who has also appeared on Dancing on Ice and I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, left friends and fans rushing to congratulate her after sharing a picture of an ultrasound in a heartwarming Instagram post. Captioned “hopeful beginnings”, a short video showed Jorgie, Ollie, Ollie’s son and the couple’s dog reveal the baby scan.

“Congratulations to you both,” wrote Doctor Who actress and former Hollyoaks star Mandip Gill. “The most beautiful news.”

More Hollyoaks alumni were quick to leave supportive messages for their co-star, with Chelsee Healey saying she was “crying” at the happy news and Jennifer Metcalfe writing: “Cannot wait for this new chapter”.

Among the famous faces congratulating Jorgie, the official Hollyoaks Instagram account even shared delight at the news, writing: “This is just beautiful! Congratulations.”

Jorgie announced her engagement to Ollie back in December via Instagram, showing off a huge diamond on her finger while her new fiancé kissed her on the cheek in a candid snap. The news came just over a year after the pair went public with their relationship in October 2020.

The star told OK! that while the pair are yet to have wedding plans set in stone, they have been full of romantic ideas for their dream big day since their engagement. Jorgie admitted that she was torn between a huge wedding or an intimate affair, and that the couple are entertaining the idea of getting hitched abroad.
