Hollyoaks has confirmed the looming death of Luke Morgan, after it was initially teased in a trailer earlier this year.
The Channel 4 soap aired a devastating flashforward during the E4 episode on Wednesday night, that saw Luke's grieving son Ollie by his coffin in their house.
Moments earlier, in present day, Ollie was filming his dad Luke, stepmother Cindy and their loves ones at the pub having a few drinks, as Cindy shared her excitement that she and Luke would soon be getting married.
But as the scene went dark, it was revealed it was footage Ollie was watching on the TV, as a flashforward detailed tragic news.
Two months into the future, the scene revealed it was Luke's funeral and that he had sadly passed away two months after the get together.
In the scene a heartbroken Ollie watches the clips of his late father in tears, before he walks over to Luke's coffin - placing an order of service on the top.
A picture of Luke is on this with the date July 7 2022, so at some point between now and then Luke will pass away.
Ollie tells his dad: "I love you, dad," before sobbing as he places his hand on the coffin before he says a final goodbye.
This is the first confirmation that Luke will pass away soon, while fans have known for a while that the character did not have long to live.
Luke was diagnosed with Frontotemporal dementia, FTD, around two years ago after he began forgetting things.
In recent weeks his behaviour has taken a turn, with him forgetting so much about his past and being so out of character.
Becoming impulsive and not understanding the consequences of his actions, and misunderstanding situations, his loved ones have been struggling with caring for the much-loved character.
The knowledge that they wouldn't have him forever has weighed heavily on Ollie, Cindy and his sister Zara too, with them rallying together to support each other and Luke.
It seems Luke might not make it to his wedding day, which was set to be July 7, while there is some confusion about when Luke will pass.
While the scene read 'two months later', the date on the order of service was July, which is around three months away.
Viewers will have to tune in to find out what happens in Luke's final months, and what leads to his heartbreaking death.
