Hollyoaks finally confirms Harry Thompson's shock death and fans are heartbroken

Hollyoaks viewers shared their upset, as a new trailer for the Channel 4 soap confirmed the death of a much-loved character.

Harry Thompson was murdered by serial killer Breda McQueen in July in a twist that no one saw coming.

Viewers were convinced he was still alive and would return, but hopes dimmed when his dad Tony Hutchinson learned the truth and he too was attacked by Breda.

Tony is alive and being held captive, while Harry's ghost appeared to him after he had been stabbed - and now a new trailer has revealed the moment his body is discovered.

Confirming Harry, played by actor Parry Glasspool, is definitely dead, the trailer sees a newspaper reports covering the gruesome discovery.

Not only that, but a guilty Mercedes McQueen is left mortified by the death, knowing she and Liam Donovan had framed him for the car crash that almost killed Grace Black just weeks earlier.

Liam is heard commenting that it keeps them in the clear, while it's obvious from the scenes Mercedes' conscience is getting the better of her.

Harry's ex James Nightingale also appears to be affected by the shocking news, while other scenes tease killer Breda could finally be exposed.

After viewing the trailer, several fans took to Twitter admitting they were gutted, still having hope that somehow Harry would come back from the dead.

One viewer said: "S**t, even though we knew it was coming seeing Harry’s body is found in the trailer was a real gut punch!"

Another tweeted: "Harry’s body is discovered so that definitely means no surprise comeback. Ever."

A third commented: "So you really killed Harry off..."
Others begged the show to bring him back, not ready to let the character go.

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6:30pm on Channel 4, with the next episode at 7pm on E4.
