Hollyoaks fans convinced they know who dies as deadly crane collapse hits village

Hollyoaks aired dramatic and deadly scenes on Tuesday night on E4, as Luke Morgan caused a crane to sink into the concrete below, before it began to collapse on the village.

After climbing into the crane which was carrying metal beams and heavy bags of cement, he was left horrified when it began to malfunction.

It caused the tunnels below to cave in, with Nancy and Darren left trapped, while above the ground several others were left at risk as chaos ensued.

The beams and bags began to fall from the sky in the paths of characters including Mandy, Leela, Charlie and Ella - with viewers on the edge of their seats as events spiralled out of control.

Mandy was forced to the ground, while Mitchell and Anita, Scott's drag alter-ego, became trapped in the florist just as the crane came crashing down on top of them.

Serial killer Breda and her hostage Tony were also at risk just as he made his escape bid, with their car crashing before being hit by debris.

As the events unfolded, viewers were left mortified before making predictions over which characters might not survive.

While a death has not been confirmed by the soap, every year the stunt leaves someone dead so fans are convinced it will be the same this year.

One viewer tweeted: "I'm watching last night's #Hollyoaks. Why do I feel like Tony is actually gonna die."

Another said: "I think either Cleo or Mandy will die....Maybe."

A third tweeted: "Guessing Scott or Mitchell dies and either Nancy, Mandy or Tony."

Meanwhile, a fourth added: "Guaranteed Mitchell or Darren die."

Viewers will have to tune in all this week to find out who survives, and whether Tony finally gets away from Breda.

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6:30pm on Channel 4, with the next episode at 7pm on E4.
