Holly Willoughby to be joined by two presenters replacing Phillip Schofield on This Morning

The new co-hosts joining Holly Willoughby on This Morning when the show returns to the show this week have been confirmed. Willoughby will be joined by two presenters when she makes her return to the popular ITV daytime show.

Much attention is surrounding Holly's return to the show. She has not been on This Morning since the departure of her co-host Phillip Schofield was announced two weeks ago. Phillip Schofield left This Morning with immediate effect following news of his affair with a younger male colleague. He also stepped away from ITV and the last time he and Holly were on the show was Thursday, May 18.

At the time of Schofield's departure, ITV said Willoughby would be back on Monday, June 5 following the half term break. Willoughby is scheduled to return to This Morning on Monday. On Friday it was confirmed that Josie Gibson will present alongside Holly Willoughby on ITV's This Morning next week following Phillip Schofield's exit.

At the end of Friday's show (June 2), Alison Hammond said Big Brother star Gibson will partner the returning Holly on Monday's show. It's now been revealed that Josie will present with Holly again on Tuesday before Craig Doyle takes over on Wednesday and Thursday. It's understood Alison and Dermot will present on Friday as usual, The Mirror reports.

At this stage it's still unclear who will be the permanent replacement for Schofield on the show.

It comes as Phillip Schofield has spoken about the impact his recent high profile departure from ITV and This Morning has had, as he said he is now afraid to leave the house. Following news of his affair with a younger male colleague, the former This Morning presenter, 61, previously said he had “lost everything” after admitting to the affair, and that the fallout had had a “catastrophic effect” on his mind.
