Holly Willoughby was left telling This Morning chef Gino D'Acampo to ‘shut up’ on Tuesday morning as he repeatedly tried to promote his new ITV series.
The infamously boisterous Italian chef appeared in the ITV studio to cook up a Christmas dinner storm in the kitchen, but only arrived partway through the show.
When Gino did arrive, host Phillip Schofield noted as he walked into the ITV set that he was still wearing his coat and carrying his briefcase ahead of his segment.
Leaving his bag on the kitchen counter, Gino admitted: “I've just arrived, okay,” before he quickly pivoted: “My new show is out on Wednesday and Thursday. I want everybody to know.”
He added: “It's a dating show with cooking. I opened a cookery school in the island of Sardinia, where I live. I get the single people coming in and through cooking I'm doing a social experiment.”
The chef went on to tease his segment later in the show, where he cooked turkey breast with Marsala wine before again teasing his new show Cooking Up Love, produced by Gordon Ramsay's company.
He said: “Don't forget to watch the show. It's all about my new show in the next couple of hours. I'm telling you now, every time you ask me a question, I'll mention the show.”
As the show tried to move on to the next segment amid Gino’s self-promotion, host Holly then quickly quipped back: “Your show's going to be on in a minute if you don't shut up.”
The ITV dating show will see single people battling it out in an Italian kitchen and cooking up a storm with the hope of finding true love under the watchful eye of Gino.
The moment came after earlier in the programme, Holly exchanged heated words with ITV show guest Camilla Tominey on Tuesday during a debate about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ’s latest Netflix trailer.
The daytime show host sat down with co-host Phillip on the ITV sofa to discuss the full-length trailer, which was released last night and is set to drop in full on the streaming giant later this week.
Holly asked journalists Camilla Tominey, Sonia Sodha and Simon McCoy what could come next for the Sussexes after the already divisive docu-series.
Camilla cut in to push back against the suggestion the couple faced media intrusion, asking the guests to name a ‘covert’ paparazzi shot taken of the couple in the UK which was then published in a national newspaper.
Holly responded: “I do remember there were comparisons at the time between how Kate [Middleton] was being treated and how she was being.”
Camilla then replied: “I know, but Holly, even the footage of Kate...,” before Holly cut in: “There was quite a difference there.”
The pair continued to speak over each other before Holly insisted: “I’m saying this because I’m trying to offer another side to this, because I don't like anyone who’s not here.”
