Holly Willoughby strips to swimsuit as she reveals new challenge that's taken a year to start to fans

Holly Willoughby stripped to her swimsuit in her latest social media video. But it wasn't for a relaxing bath or a dip in a sun-soaked swimming pool in an exotic location.

The This Morning host was in fact in the backyard of her London abode - which she shares with her husband Dan Baldwin and their three children - and was seen stepping into a spine-tingling ice bath. Holly appeared in a gorgeous floral swimsuit, and warming bobble hat, as she lifted the lid on the freezing bath before gritting her teeth and stepping in.

She then submerged her body - up to her shoulders - in the chilly water as her children's hands were seen popping into the shot as they tested the temperature of the bath. Holly breathed and grinned her way through her brief time in the ice bath before jumping back out.

Writing to her millions of followers, Holly, 42, captioned the video: "Right let’s begin this icy journey!" She then explained: "After working with Wim Hof and the whole Freeze the Fear team, it’s taken a year, but I’m finally doing it for you…"

She was referring to the fact that last year she teamed up with the Dutch motivational speaker and extreme athlete, known as The Iceman, for the BBC One show alongside co-host Lee Mack to test a group of celebrities as they undertook icy challenges with the support of Wim.

While Holly and Lee presided over the show, they watched and supported the contestants - including rapper Professor Green, Strictly Come Dancing's Dianne Buswell and sports presenter Gabby Logan - undergo physical and mental battles.

Rounding off her post, Holly then revealed: "Didn’t last long but build up slowly right? Wow, that was bloody cold but I did feel incredible after…" Fellow This Morning star Alison Hammond was quick to comment, writing: "Yes Holly. Well done."

And fans were quick to share their praise. @k80griff said: "Oh I so want to try this! Well done @hollywilloughby." @nurserynursemichelle commented: "Bloody Hell - well done you! Will it be a daily event….." @jjninaj wrote: "You did it!! I really want to do this. Can just about manage a 10 sec cold shower!! Well done Holly!"

@timrichardjones posted: "Wow love it & bet it was cold but it's supposed 2 be good for U & well done Holly for giving it a go." @stephanieh_21 replied: "You’re brave - could never do that!" @cazbev77 added: "Yes! Wait till you start to crave the cold and enjoy going in."
