Holly Willoughby Strictly switch 'on the cards' as BBC want to tempt her away from ITV

BBC bosses are said to be keen on 'stealing' Holly Willoughby from ITV, with an offer of a role on Strictly Come Dancing apparently on the cards.

Holly has been at the centre of some controversy over the last month, firstly because of reports of a feud between her and her now former co-host Phillip Schofield, with things then taking a turn when he, firstly, announced he was leaving This Morning after 21 years and then caused a media storm with his admission that he'd had an affair with a young runner on the ITV programme

Holly started her half term break from This Morning a week earlier than planned as storm clouds gathered over the show and then, on her much publicised return to the studio, told viewers at home that she'd been "hurt and troubled" by what had gone on, whilst assuring fans that she and the rest of he This Morning team would be doing their best to bring back 'the magic' it was known for.

But it's Strictly that she is now being talked up for, with an insider telling The Mail on Sunday: "Holly is the golden goose. BBC bosses want her and they have been plotting for some time to get her for their big shows. They know how popular she is, but it also has to be the right programme."

The source added "Recently there has been talk around the BBC that Strictly would be a way to lure her over."

After a weekend at Glastonbury, Holly finally returned to This Morning on Tuesday, although she was visibly struggling within seconds of the show starting. As she croaked her way through the opening link, co-star Craig Doyle asked: "What is this? A bit of a summer cold? Some allergies? A bit of pollen?" before Holly admitted she'd been "Glasto'd" going on to blame all the singing she did to Elton John for her fragile state.
