Holly Willoughby shares 'heartbreaking' image as she breaks social media silence after ITV This Morning absence

Holly Willoughby has shared a message of 'hope' as she broke her social media silence during her time away from This Morning. The presenter was forced off the ITV daytime show this week after testing positive for coronavirus. Her positive test came just hours before she was supposed to host the Dancing On Ice semi-finals alongside Phillip Schofield on Sunday.

Phillip, 59, was left to host the skating competition solo with ITV explaining that it was too late to find a replacement for Holly after viewers made 'sexism' claims.

But there was enough time for them to find a replacement for the 41-year-old's weekday role as Josie Gibson once again stepped into her shoes alongside Phillip for three days before Friday This Morning host Alison Hammond took the reigns a day early on Thursday. Phillip had been giving updates about Holly's health but the mum-of-three hadn't posted on social media or hadn't sent a message directly into the show she's hosted for 13 years.

Speaking on Thursday, Phillip said Holly was "still taking care of herself" and a day earlier he said she was "fine" but "annoyed" at the situation she has found herself in weeks after Phillip himself had to take time off after contracting the virus.

But now, Holly has returned to social media but only to share a post about her latest monthly Wylde Moon project.

Sharing the cover of March's version of 'The Edition' which featured a heartbreaking picture of a baby reaching his hand to what appears to be his father's on a train out of warn-torn Ukraine.

"Today's Full Moon brings us 'The Hope Edition'," Holly told her millions of followers. "Hope is a powerful thing, and given the realities of life today, is the one thing we must hold onto with all our being."

She went on: "This month, we have felt more inspired than ever to tell empowering stories of women living through war and doing unbelievable things for their communities near and far. As such, we are featuring 2 unbelievably brave WYLDE Women this month: Taban Shoresh and Jo Cope.

"And there's a break in usual format of my 'By the Light of the Moon' podcast, whilst I speak to four inspirational women who have felt the impact of war; Chelsey Lloyd, Ukrainian MP Kira Rudik, Dr. Larisa Corda, and Valentina Butenko."

Holly then rounded off her post: "This Edition is one to empower, inspire and bring hope to all that journey through it…"

And the post gave her followers 'goosebumps'.

@finelo13 said: "That photo just makes me cry. Hope the baby and daddy get to be together again soon."

"I have goosebumps looking at this photograph ... evoques so many emotions," @northumbriacakes commented.

@afb1975 shared: "What an utterly heartbreaking image."

Wylde Moon is Holly's lifestyle website she launched last year which explores topics from 'beauty and fashion, to energy and healing'.
