Holly Willoughby 'scolds' Phillip Schofield as he impresses ITV This Morning viewers with forgotten skill

Holly Willoughby jokingly told off her This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield after he surprised viewers with his forgotten skill.

The hosting duo were back at the helm of the ITV daytime programme on Tuesday when Holly, 41, was reminded of what she missed when she had to take time off earlier this month after testing positive for coronavirus. While she was recuperating at home, the show went on and Phillip, 59, was joined by two different co-hosts - Josie Gibson and Alison Hammond - in Holly's absence.

And it was Phillip and Alison who got the pleasure of recording an interview with crooning sensation Michael Bublé who has been popping up on various TV and radio show over the last week as he promotes his new album, Higher.

The interview started with Alison, 47, swooning over a 'fine' Michael before reminiscing over their 'history' together, with her interviewing the Canadian star in the past for This Morning. "It just feels as electric to be with you in your presence again," she told him. "It's so good to see you, Michael."

Michael then returned the favour and said it was a "joy" to be with them live in the studio and feel "so comfortable and happy." He then revealed he had pushed back the release of his album because he needed to be able to promote his new record in person.

They went on to discuss Michael's new music, upcoming tour and family life with his wife and their children after recently revealing they're expecting their fourth child together. He also revealed all on the moment he received a phone call from music legend Sir Paul McCartney for a collaboration.

But it was the end of the episode that got viewers talking as the trio entered into a singsong together after the programme showed a clip of when Alison has previously sang. "We can't let you go without singing," Alison told Michael, who was more than happy to give it a go.

"I love this show so much," the singer added. Alison admitted that she doesn't usually let Phil in on her songs but was struggling to remember the first bit of the song so needed some assistance.

All three of them then entered into a joint rendition of Nat King Cole’s L-O-V-E with Phillip kicking it all off. But it ended up being Michael who made a blunder during the track, forgetting how to spell 'LOVE' and Phil having to help him out before he picked the lyrics back up a few seconds later.

And as viewers know, Phil isn't one to burst into song on live TV and Holly was soon reminding him of it when the pre-recorded interview came to an end and they returned to Tuesday's hosting pair in the studio.

"Well... I loved every second of that," Holly started by saying before adding to her co-host; "I turn my back for one second and you are singing on the telly..."

"Singing with Buble," Phillip laughed before Holly repeated his sentence with an excited screech. "The only reason, because I'd have said no normally cause know me..." Phil continued as Holly said: "I know, that's why I can't believe it."

Phillip explained; "But Alison said, 'I can't do it, I don't know what the beginning is. I don't know how it starts.' So there you go."

But Phillip's singing impressed viewers with many forgetting that the presenter was once famed for starring in the West End as Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in 1991, taking over from Jason Donovan.

"You should sing more on the T V Phil," @yvonnepalmerferris said @alisonhurt7425 commented: "Phil you can really sing."

"Phillip was amazing and Micheal so funny loved it xxxxx @thismorning," @lea.newman33 wrote @whitecats_2020 shared: "Phil was better than MB."

"Love this but Phillip was the best in my opinion," @oxkellybellxo added.
