Holly Willoughby has cryptically posted about people liking to ‘pigeon-hole’ her in the wake of the drama surrounding queuegate.
The This Morning presenter, 41, and her co-host Phillip Schofield, 60, faced a ferocious public backlash after they were falsely accused last month of jumping the queue to see Queen Elizabeth II lying in state at Westminster Palace.
Although ITV back the duo and Willoughby and Schofield addressed the misunderstanding, explaining that they had media accreditation and were there in a journalistic capacity to report on events for the ITV daytime show, it did little to defuse the situation.
An online petition calling for Willoughby and Schofield to be axed from This Morning which attracted over 75,000 signatures.
Now, the mum-of-three has posted a journal entry on her website Wylde Moon, her lifestyle brand which just celebrated its first birthday.
The TV star opened up in the post about how people see you and how her beloved brand has helped her rediscover her identity.
She wrote: “I’ve had to become a businesswoman. I know for some people some of the things we speak about come as a surprise because people like to have you figured out and pigeon-holed.
“Wylde Moon is very much my inner-self and a passion project. It has brought me back to who I am.”
Willoughby has generally kept a low-profile since the furore, but will step out with Schofield on Thursday when they attend the National Television Awards at Wembley’s OVO Arena in London.
