Holly Willoughby savaged by Harry Hill on HIGNFY as This Morning speech ripped apart

Holly Willoughby has been mercilessly mocked by Harry Hill following her statement on This Morning.

The Wylde Moon guru, 42, made the now infamous speech on Monday in which she asked viewers if they were ok following the fallout from Phillip Schofield's shock resignation.

A number of celebrities, including Amanda Holden, 52, have ribbed Holly for the statement and now Harry, 58, has weighed in on the drama.

Fronting Have I Got News For You on Friday, he tried on the new Apple AI headset, telling viewers it allowed them to live in a "mixed reality" like " Holly Willoughby does".

He also poked fun at the mum-of-three, who featured in the picture round.

Explaining why Holly was the right answer, Harry said: "They’ve all been upset by something they’ve seen on the telly apart from Holly Willoughby who made a special statement about it and how upset she was on the telly."

Team captains Paul Merton and Ian Hislop also mocked the presenter as Paul asked his pal: "Did you feel let down, Ian?" with the panellist responding: "I was just wondering if that was a cocktail: shaken, let down. I think the audience doesn’t feel anything except, well, 'This is quite interesting, unlike the show normally.'"

Many viewers thought her speech was disingenuous (ITV)

Holly made a return to This Morning following a two-week break after her former co-host Phil admitted to having an "unwise but not illegal" affair with a young runner on the show.

There were doubts whether the Feel the Fear host would return to the programme, but Holly rocked up in the studio, wearing an angelic white dress as she told herself to 'take a deep breath' before saying: "“Firstly, are you OK? I hope so.

“You, me and all of us at This Morning gave our love and support to someone who was not telling the truth. Who acted in a way that they themselves felt that they had to resign from ITV and step down from a career that they loved. That is a lot to process.

“And it’s equally hard to see the toll that it’s taken on their own mental health. I think what unites us all now is a desire to heal for the health and wellbeing of everyone. I hope that as we start this new chapter and get back to a place of warmth and magic that this show holds for all of us, we can find strength in each other.”

Some, including Piers Morgan thought Holly did the best she could in the testing circumstances, however others thought the speech was disingenuous.
