Holly Willoughby's This Morning replacement confirmed as host forced off ITV show by illness

Holly Willoughby has warned her fans that she could be off This Morning for all of this week, after she was struck down by a nasty illness.

Having been off the ITV daytime show for two weeks over the Easter break, Holly was fully expected to be back alongside Phillip Schofield, as he returns to the studio after a three week 'pre-planned' hiatus. However, Holly has now revealed that she won't be with Phillip on Monday and is likely to be off longer, as she battles shingles.

Taking to Instagram, she told her followers: "Hi, just to let you know, I may be away for the rest of the week as I have Shingles.

"I'll be back as soon as I'm better. Huge love."

Fans were quick to react to Holly's bad news and wish her well, with one taking to Twitter to post: "My heart goes out to you Holly. I had shingles and it's really horrible! I hope you got some anti-virals early enough. A second tweeted: "those shingles are terrible I got them when I was quite young they are very painful."

It has been reported that Holly will be replaced by This Morning colleague Rochelle Humes, on a move that may surprise regular viewers of the programme, given that she hasn't hosted for months. When Phillip went off a week earlier than Holly, Alison Hammond stepped in to take his place, before the Friday presenter teamed up with Dermot O'Leary to take the reins for the first week of Easter.

As they then took a break, the job of fronting This Morning was handed to Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle, with their partnership coming in for plenty of praise from viewers.
