Holly Willoughby's new This Morning co-host leaves viewers making plea to ITV

Holly Willoughby has been paired up with a new This Morning co-host for the first time, with many viewers declaring Craig Doyle as the 'perfect' full time replacement for Phillip Schofield.

It's now been close to three weeks that Phillip announced he was leaving This Morning after 21 years, with Holly issuing a swift statement to say the show's sofa 'would never be the same.' However, things then took a turn when, a week later, Phillip spoke out again, this time to admit an affair behind his wife's back, with a young This Morning runner; saying he lied about the 'unwise but not illegal' relationship to his family, ITV colleagues, agents and lawyers.

After being absent as more revelations were made, Holly finally returned to host This Morning on Monday, starting her first show with a speech to viewers in which she said she felt 'troubled' and 'let down' by everything that ad gone on, before assuring that all involved with the daytime programme would work hard to bring the 'magic' it's famous for.

For the first two days of her return, Holly hosted alongside Josie Gibson, but on Wednesday and Thursday, she was joined by former Holiday presenter Craig. Craig is already a firm favourite with This Morning fans already thanks to his stints hosted with Josie, Alison Hammond and Rochelle Humes, but, having seen him get a chance to front the show alongside Holly, many viewers are now pushing for ITV to give him Phillip's job.

Taking to Twitter, one posted: "if anyone can save this programme it's Craig Doyle. What a lovely fella," with another tweeting: "@craigdoyle bringing @hollywills back to life and she's looking less like a robot with each day" and a third responding: "@thismorning Craig Doyle, best decision you ever made! Love love him."
