Holly Willoughby enjoyed a heartwarming reunion with Phillip Schofield as she returned to This Morning after her Covid battle.

The TV presenting duo shared a sweet hug when they were reunited on the This Morning sofa on Wednesday.

Now Willoughby, 41, was clearly delighted to be back after spending nearly two weeks away.

Embracing Schofield on the ITV daytime show, she told him: “Do you know? It’s so nice to be back. I literally feel like I’ve been gone forever!”

“So do I!” He agreed.

“I’ve watched loads of you,” Willoughby continued. “I feel like you’ve been in my house with me the whole time. It’s been so nice to have you there.”

Her co-host knew exactly what she meant, having been struck down by the virus himself earlier in the year.

He said: “Isn’t it the weirdest thing and the most horrible thing to watch it all going on without you? Like Dancing On Ice? Missing a show like that is horrible!”

“Really weird,” she agreed.

Mother-of-three Willoughby also reassured viewers she was feeling much better now.

She added: “I had 48 hours of feeling really rubbish, you know, just in bed, head on the pillow, headache, all that kind of stuff.

“And then after that, you just felt like you had a bit of a cold, a bit rubbish. But fine! I’m absolutely fine now!

“It’s just waiting for that line [lateral flow test] to go. It’s like the worst advent calendar in the world, ‘What did I get today? Oh! Red line!’”

Clearly happy to have her back, Schofield told her: “Well, now the present box has finally been opened, and you’re back.”

To commemorate the occasion, they posed for a selfie which was shared online.

“Sooooooooo HAPPY! @schofe,” she captioned the snap.

Former Big Brother star Josie Gibson, 37, had been filling in while Willoughby recovered at home.
