Holly Willoughby reveals how close she came to giving scammer access to her bank account

Holly Willoughby has opened up about the terrifying moment she so nearly handed over her bank details to a low life scammer.

She addressed the issue on This Morning as the ITV show explored the dangers of tricksters following a surge in criminal behaviour during the cost of living crisis.

Holly spoke about her own experience with fraud and confessed she was almost became a high profile victim.

The 41-year-old admitted she had suffered a scare after receiving a text about a delivery to her mobile phone.

She clicked the link when the message came through - despite often warning viewers about such scams.

It turned out in was a crook and she spoke of her near miss with co-host Phil Schofield on the programme.

"The amount of times we talk about it and I did it the other day," she said.

"It was a text about a delivery that needed re-delivering - I thought 'oh yeah I probably do need to pay the re-delivery'.

"It was only when I clicked and saw you had to enter your bank details and I thought 'oh my god, don't do it' and deleted it.

"Even though we talk about it all the time."

Phil said she had gone a long way into filling in the information before realising what was going on.

Holly told him: "The moment I saw bank details I though 'oh ok, I get this'."

She didn't lose money and the pair both again stressed the need to not open links on messages you aren't expecting.

Holly and Phil showed no sign on tension as speculation grows that their time fronting the flagship show may be ticking down.

They pair have have been trolled mercilessly since footage showed the two stars being taken through to Westminster Hall to film a segment for the ITV show and seemingly skipping the lengthy queue, as thousands waited for hours in the queue outside.

It was something This Morning strongly denies, arguing the on-screen talent were for journalism purposes.

As Queue-gate rumbles on, it's now been alleged things are tense between co-stars and pals Holly and Phi l, with the atmosphere on the This Morning set reportedly 'very awkward', as the two presenters attempt to move on from the saga that angered the nation and prompted a petition calling for their resignations gaining over 75,000 signatures.

The whole saga has had an impact on Holly and Phil's workplace, with a source recently OK! that the atmosphere in the This Morning studio was "awful" and the Queue-gate drama has made their relationship "extremely awkward"
