Holly Willoughby returns to social media with update ahead of This Morning comeback

Holly Willoughby has provided a fresh health update after coming down with shingles. The This Morning presenter was due to return to the ITV1 daytime programme on Monday, April 17 after the two-week Easter but was replaced by Rochelle Humes who co-hosted alongside Phillip Shcofield.

The 42-year-old's absence was due to a bout of shingles, which saw the presenter miss This Morning all week while she recovered. The mum-of-three told her 8.2 million followers last weekend: "Hi... Just to let you know I may be away for the rest of the week as I have Shingles. I'll be back as soon as I'm better. Huge love. Holly xxx."

However, Holly was forced to miss the full week and is expected to make a return tomorrow on Monday, April 24. The news was shared by Alison Hammond on her usual Friday show, the presenter told ITV viewers: "On Monday's show Holly is coming back so don't worry. She's going to be here on Monday!"

And in light of the news, Holly has taken to social media to provide an update. Posting a picture of her gorgeous dog Bailey on Saturday, April 23, Holly wrote: "And I'm out of the house."

Alongside a celebratory popper emoji, she continued: “The birds are putting on quite the show today… spring sounds beautiful." The television star was quickly inundated with messages.

One fan wrote: "Woohoo! My grandmother had shingles a couple of years ago and said it was far from pleasant. Glad you’re feeling better," while another added: "Shingles is awful. Hope you are OK. Maybe you and the medical team can cover post-viral conditions and recovery when you are back?"

"Awww glad to hear that Holly and hello Bailey!" said a third, it comes after Holly assured fans she was feeling "so much better" on Friday and thanked Dermot O'Leary for his sweet gesture. You can read more on this here.
