Holly Willoughby out of Dancing on Ice after testing positive for coronavirus

Holly Willoughby has been forced to miss Sunday night's Dancing on Ice after testing positive for coronavirus, with the show plunged into chaos horus before cameras tart rolling.

A month after her co-host Phillip Schofield was forced to miss a week of Dancing on Ice for the first time in the ITV show's history due to Covid, it's not been revealed that Holly has also contracted the virus.

Issuing a brief statement on Sunday morning, a show spokesperson said: "Unfortunately, Holly Willoughby is unable to host tonight's show after testing positive for Covid-19.

"We look forward to Holly returning for the Dancing on Ice Live Final."

Unlike when Phillip tested positive and ITV had time to sort Stephen Mulhern as a replacement, as things stand, another presenter won't stand in for Holly and instead Phillip will present the show solo on Sunday evening.

While people who test positive for coronavirus no longer have to isolate by law, it's expected that Holly having it will also have a knock on effect on who will host This Morning over the coming week.

Holly has yet to address her absence on Instagram, unlike Phillip, who broke the news of being struck down by Covid, by posting positive lateral flow tests on his story.

As well as Holly being forced to miss the show, Sunday's Dancing on Ice has already been subject to a number of changes.

Firstly, it will start an hour later than normal, airing o ITV from 7.30-9pm and there are two firsts for the new series, with all of the remaining couples asked to perform two routines before the first double elimination of 2022.

At the time of writing, Regan Gascoigne is still the bookies' favourite to win.
