Holly Willoughby is said to be considering her future on This Morning after Phillip Schofield's 'betrayal'.
The pair have presented This Morning together for several years, but after Phil's bombshell statement yesterday evening, where he admitted that the "last few weeks haven't been easy for either" of them, Holly is reportedly considering where her future lies with the show and having Phil as her presenting partner after all that's happened.
The statement left Holly "upset" as she had "kept a dignified silence out of respect" amid claims the pair's friendship has been 'cooling' and that they are separate entities now rather than close like they once were.
A source told MailOnline: "The statement came out of nowhere for Holly and it was upsetting. What a betrayal. It feels like he Phil is looking after himself here, with no regard for her. Holly has kept a dignified silence out of respect.
"Now she is seriously thinking about what to do next. Can she move forward with Phil? Probably not. That’s certainly what those who care for her are saying. How can he say she’s his rock and then put that statement out."
In a statement to The Sun, Phil described Holly as his "rock" and said she - and the whole This Morning family - had been so supportive.
"As I have said before, Holly is my rock. We’re the best of friends - as always, she is an incredible support on screen, behind the scenes and on the phone. Holly has always been there for me, through thick and thin. And I’ve been there for her," he said.
"The last few weeks haven’t been easy for either of us. And Holly’s support throughout meant the world to me, as did the support of my bosses at ITV, my editor Martin Frizell and the whole This Morning family, including our amazing viewers."
Eagle-eyed fans had noticed Holly had wiped Phillip from her social media in recent weeks.
In her Twitter bio she had previously written: "I was introduced to this by a Twitter legend," before tagging her presenting partner.
Her Twitter bio now reads: "Broadcaster, Founder of Wyldemoon, Brand ambassador for Marks & Spencer and Garnier, Author of Reflections” - something that didn't slip past her and Phil's viewers on This Morning, who noted the change.
