Holly Willoughby leaves This Morning viewers confused as she says wrong day at start of Monday's show

This Morning fans were left confused after host Holly Willoughby slipped up during today's intro on the show.

While welcoming viewers to the start of Monday's episode, alongside co-host Alison Hammond, she accidentally said it was Tuesday.

"Good morning, hello and welcome to Tuesday morning's This Morning." She said gleefully as the ITV talk show began - which you can watch in the video above .

Seemingly unaware of her slip up, Holly continued to present the show with Alison, who was dancing away to Girls Just Wanna Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper.

However, many viewers were quick to pick up on the mum-of-three's error and took to social media to react.

@starnaminggifts posted: "@thismorning #thismorning is it me or did holly say welcome to this Tuesday’s episode of This morning??"

@David47203456 replied back with: "@starnaminggifts Correct... probably due to her heavy work schedule, Holly's been doing other stuff. Just a slip up."

@misslad1504 asked: "Did Holly just say Tuesday’s This Morning? #ThisMorning", to which @SuzeTwelve replied: "She did. Surprised nobody's corrected her yet."

@anee_nigma wrote: "@thismorning almost fainted there, thought I'd lost a whole day when at @hollywills said welcome to your Tuesday @thismorning, I know I'm watching on catch up but I thought it was and hour and a half, not a day and a half. Brilliant show was usual, @AlisonHammond with Holly yipee."

It comes just a few days after the 40-year-old returned to This Morning after being away for three weeks.

The ITV presenter delighted fans as she appeared back on the show at the end of last week, revealing that she had been absent due to filming a new show called Superstar Survival in Italy.

Set to air on BBC, the brand new programme will see Holly host along with comedian Lee Mack and extreme athlete Wim 'The Iceman' Hoff, a Dutch motivational speaker and extreme athlete well-known for his ability to endure harsh temperatures.

The new show follows a group of soul-searching celebrities as they embark on an epic adventure of self-improvement, while putting them through their paces as they tackle "death defying" challenges in the alps.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on on ITV and the ITV Hub.
