Holly Willoughby 'knew' about Philip Schofield affair, claims James Haskell

Ex-rugby star James Haskell says he believes Holly Willoughby knew about Phillip Schofield's affair with a younger male colleague. Holly, 42, returned to This Morning on Monday after an extended half-term break and addressed viewers stating that she was 'hurt' to find out that Phillip, 61, lied to her about the affair.

Former rugby star James has hit out at Holly and claims 'she knew' about the inappropriate relationship. James, who is the son-in-law of former This Morning presenters Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, claimed everyone was aware of the affair. Speaking on the Jeremy Vine Show, the 37-year-old shared his thoughts on the This Morning scandal, reports the Daily Record.

Speaking on the Channel 5 show, James said: "Utter nonsense. She [Holly] asked: 'Are you ok?' A bloke off the TV cheated on his wife, I think I'll survive, I think I'll live. This is 2023 in a nutshell.

"I knew about this years ago, of course she [Holly] knows. Everybody knows."

I'm A Celebrity winner Myleene Klass added: "I think it's a case of the conversations that happen on that sofa, these are people who are trusted and welcomed into our house."

This comes after Holly returned to her regular This Morning presenting role alongside Josie Gibson and delivered a statement on the scandal.

She said: "Deep breath - firstly, are you OK? I hope so. It feels very strange sitting here without Phil and I imagine you might be feeling a lot like I have - shaken, troubled, let down, worried for the wellbeing of people on all sides of what's been going on, and full of questions.

"You, me, and all of us at This Morning gave our love and support to someone who was not telling the truth, who acted in a way that they themselves felt that they had to resign from ITV and step down from a career that they loved. That is a lot to process.
