Holly Willoughby in day blunder seconds into ITV This Morning

Holly Willoughby was that excited to be back on This Morning that she made a day blunder just seconds in.

The presenter was back at the helm of the ITV daytime show on Monday after making her first return in weeks last Thursday.

But she was without her usual co-host.

Phillip Schofield was still in isolation after testing positive for coronavirus last Monday.

So Friday This Morning host Alison Hammond stepped in alongside Holly.

At the start of the show, Holly, 40, and Alison, 47, were seen standing in the This Morning studio as Cyndi Lauper track, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, blared out.

As Alison had a little boogie, Holly welcomed viewers to the show before declaring: "Girls just wanna have fun and I'm with the funnest one around."

"Aww," Alison replied. "This was always going to happen, wasn't it Holly?"

"At some point, definitely," Holly responded.

But the pair had completely brushed over the fact Holly made an error.

When introducing the show on Monday, the blonde beauty said: "Hello and welcome to your Tuesday's This Morning."

And viewers were quick to pick up on it.

@misslad1504 asked: "Did Holly just say Tuesday’s This Morning? #ThisMorning."

To which @SuzeTwelve replied: "She did. Surprised nobody's corrected her yet."

"@thismorning #thismorning is it me or did holly say welcome to this Tuesday’s episode of This morning ??" @starnaminggifts echoed.

Alison didn't mention Holly's mistake (ITV)

@SoapQueen86 tweeted: "Everyone is confused with the day of the week today, @EamonnHolmes thinks it's Wednesday on #GBNews and @hollywills thinks it's Tuesday on #ThisMorning. They obviously never wanted Monday to come around this week."

"Just been watching the ITV Hub and @hollywills said "Welcome to Tuesday's This Morning" but it was Monday. Wonder what the autocue said? #ThisMorning," @peter_whiteside added.

This Morning fans will be waiting to see if Phillip returns to the ITV show on Tuesday.

it has been more than three weeks since he hosted the show alongside Holly after she spent time away filming a new show for the BBC.

She did, however, return to host Dancing On Ice alongside her pal and co-star.
