Holly Willoughby 'honoured' as she shares career news hours after ITV This Morning award win

Holly Willoughby has ignored the booing backlash from the National Television Awards to share some exciting career news with her millions of followers. The This Morning presenter returned to Instagram on Friday (October 14) after last sharing a gushing message about the ITV daytime show's win at the annual showbiz ceremony.

The programme saw off competition from Loose Women, The Chase and The Repair Shop to scoop the gong in the Daytime category at the NTAs for a fifth year in a row.

A stunned Phillip put his head in his hands and appeared to hold back tears after This Morning was called as the winner while Holly looked equally as surprised and pleased as she immediately hugged her co-star and off-screen 'bestie'. When up on stage, an emotional Phil, 60, told the crowd and ITV viewers: "Don’t think we ever get complacent...

"And please don’t think we ever take this for granted. This means so much to us every year, especially this year. We have the most amazing team. I have the best friend, we have the best boss."

But while their fellow TV stars applauded it has been reported that the crowd around them reportedly booed - and it was picked up by viewers watching the glitzy event live on ITV. Scott Bryan, a TV critic and broadcaster, tweeted: "A source at the ceremony says that there were some boos in the room when This Morning won an #NTAs, but boos stopped during the speech."

Holly ignored the reponse, which appears to be in response to the baclkash the duo faced after claims they 'skipped the queue' to see the Queen lying in state, by posting on Instagram. She shared a grinning selfie of herself and Phillip sat in their seats at the glitzy awards bash.

"Thank you… holy moly… we love you… @thismorning … you are the best team, you work so hard to make the show what it is…" the mum-of-three typed. Holly, 41, added: "Thank you so much, this award means everything because it is voted by you, and I think This Morning has a very special relationship with you. You make our show for us, you really do."

She had since had more good news to share with her fans - and she says she is 'honoured'. Holly reshared a post from her husband Dan Baldwin's production company's page which revealed one of their shows, Freeze the Fear with Wim Hoff, has been nominated for an award.

"We’re delighted to announce that #FreezeTheFear with #WimHof has been shortlisted at the prestigious #RosedOrAwards 2022 for best Reality and Factual Entertainment show," the post from Hungry Bear Media read. "Well done to Wim, hosts @hollywilloughby and @leemackcomedian - and of course, all of our brave celebrities…."

It added: "A warm reception for the coldest show on TV!" As Holly re-shared the post to her own grid, she simply wrote: " Wow… what an honour," before adding a rose emoji.

The six-part series aired earlier this year and was designed to push the famous faces to test their limits in a sequence of life-changing challenges. The survival show was based on Dutch motivational speaker and extreme athlete Wim Hof, also known as 'The Iceman', who is well-known for his ability to withstand freezing temperatures.

Having inspired millions across the world to do guided breathing, take cold showers and ice baths to benefit their mind and body, Wim guided the celebrities to step completely out of their comfort zones. Fronted by Holly and comedian Lee Mack, the celebrities gave up their day-to-day lifestyles to live in below-zero conditions in the Italian Alps.
