Holly Willoughby has ITV This Morning viewers in stitches with lipstick 'confession'

Holly Willoughby was dubbed 'TV gold' during her recent appearance on This Morning after a rather bizarre lipstick 'confession'.

The TV presenter was back at the helm of the ITV daytime show on Wednesday alongside co-host Phillip Schofield as they brought viewers the latest news headlines on the Ukraine as well as sharing their usual light entertainment with sunflower planting and an interview with Joe Pasquale.

Also among the lighter segments was one with Matthew Lock who joined Holly, 41, and Phillip, 59, in the studio to demonstrate some of the best hoovers for this year so far to spruce up your home.

Matthew is only 17-years-old and is currently in Year 13 studying for his A-Levels in Engineering, Business and Physics. Matthew has previously been on the show twice in 2020 - the first time when he joined us with his impressive vacuum cleaner collection, and the second when he took us through that year's top hoovers from his shed.

And while This Morning viewers were asking whether the programme had turned into QVC, others enjoyed the segment as it went in a rather strange direction.

"These are the best of the best, ready for spring cleaning," Matthew declared as he started his segment alongside the show's famous hosts.

Phillip was soon getting involved and was fascinated by a cordless vacuum which even lit up as Holly replied: "I know, it's so exciting."

And he was then seen getting carried away with another product as he took his hoover off around the ITV studio while Holly carried on chatting to Matthew.

Later as he discussed a floor washer, the AirCraft PowerGlide City+ Hard Floor Cleaner that would set viewers back £239, Matthew commented that he used the product on the show before and it 'even got lipstick off no problem.'

This led Holly into making a cheeky quip: "I'm always getting lipstick on my floor," to a round of laughs in the studio as she herself struggled to keep a straight face.

"Face plant the floor," Matthew replied as Holly was unable to stop herself getting the giggles before trying to move on by asking: "What's next?"

Matthew was then about to demonstrate a carpet cleaner as he joked: "Let's hope there's no lipstick on the carpet," as Phillip replied: "Well, it can get anywhere."

The usual giggly hosts managed to quickly compose themselves but This Morning viewers couldn't help but comment.

"Got visions now of Holly kissing her kitchen floor lmao, she's just TV gold love her," Elizabeth wrote under the clip on the show's Facebook page.

Janette commented: "That was a really fun segment. I often get lipstick on my kitchen floor!!"

"So funny, I was in tears ... Holly n Phil luv them, once they start laughing they can't stop, it's infectious," Jean said.

@Scottish_Suzi also tweeted: "This vacuum cleaner segment on @thismorning is a crack up @hollywills: “'Oh I’m always getting lipstick on my floor!'(Cue @Schofe and entire room in uncontrollable fits of laughter) #ThisMorning #MaternityLeave #LOLs."

"Lipstick on the floor Holly? #thismorning," @WorfDelm2016 added.
