Holly Willoughby gushes over Phillip Schofield with cheeky compliment as he dresses up for Queen's Jubilee

This Morning's Holly Willoughby led the compliments for her co-host Phillip Schofield as he posed in his suit outside Windsor Castle. Phillip looked super-smart in his black suit ans bow-tie as he set the scene for The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebration on ITV.

The Oldham-born presenter, 60, will co-host the proceedings, to mark the 70-year reign of the British monarch, from the castle alongside ITV News at Ten's Julie Etchingham. Sharing a photo on his Instagram of himself bathed in the glorious sunshine he wrote proudly: "A weekend at Windsor #platinumjubilee."

Holly commented cheekily: "Handsome pants!" and she added a love heart for her friend. This Morning stand-in presenter Rochelle Humes exclaimed with a flame emoji: "Oioi have a good one." And Phillip's former Dancing On Ice co-host Christine Lampard showed her approval with a string of pinched fingers emojis.

magic_theatre_prods commented: "My goodness you look so very smart! What a glorious day xx" Phillip told ITV that it was 'an honour' to present the milestone event.

"The monarchy is for me, the epitome of British Culture. Every royal event I've had the fortune of being a part of has been a huge privilege, and Her Majesty The Queen's Platinum Jubilee is no exception," he explained.

"I'm really looking forward to bringing this celebration of The Queen's 70 years of service live to the nation." And asked how it feels to be hosting such a momentous event, he said: "It's an honour to be involved and to be asked back following the Diamond Jubilee. "Celebrating the 70-year reign of a British monarch has never happened before, so it feels incredible that we are involved in a key part of history that the British public will look back on for years to come. "

He added: "The fact the Queen acceded the throne when she was only 25 years old really is astonishing. It's a joy to be involved." The two-and-a-half hour spectacle screened tonight (Sunday May 15) at 8pm includes 1,300 performers and 500 horses, and a host of special performances.

He said: "I hope she'll enjoy the event from start to finish - there is so much packed in the two-and-a-half-hour spectacle that Julie and I will be gasping to take a breath! I hope she'll feel touched at the presence of so many people from far and wide coming together in unity to celebrate for her."

And Phillip said about the monarch: "The Queen is the figurehead for Great Britain, she's our British symbol - anyone worldwide when asked about Britain will immediately think of The Queen, and of course tea! The duty and loyalty the monarchy provides to the nation is remarkable."

Phillip and Julie will be broadcasting live from an on-site hub within the grounds of Windsor Castle. Confirmed guests include Dame Helen Mirren, Tom Cruise, Damian Lewis, Omid Djalili, Adjoa Andoh, Gregory Porter, Martin Clunes, Keala Settle, Alan Titchmarsh and Katherine Jenkins.

Lord Lloyd Webber, Ant and Dec, Dame Joan Collins, Sir Mo Farah, Dame Maureen Lipman, Sir David Jason, Dame Kelly Holmes, Moira Stuart and Sir Trevor McDonald will also pay tribute to the Queen's 70 years of service. And The Greatest Showman star Keala Settle perform 'Sing' written by Gary Barlow and Andrew Lloyd Webber with 54 children from The Commonwealth Youth Choir – each child representing each member of the Commonwealth.
