Holly Willoughby gives rare insight into family life with husband Dan after 'scary' holiday experience

Holly Willoughby has given a rare insight into her family life as she detailed a 'scary' holiday experience in her latest newsletter. Away from hosting shows such as This Morning and Dancing on Ice, the presenter has her own business, Wylde Moon.

She launched the lifestyle brand, which explores topics from "beauty and fashion to energy and healing" but also features its own boutique where Holly has launched perfumes, candles, diffusers, and even a sparkling 12-piece jewellery collection alongside Kirstie Le Marque, back in 2021.

And as part of her business, Holly, 42, sends out weekly newsletters where she sits down and pens a message to her subscribers and also writes an online journal. In this week's post, the mum-of-three opened up about how she's becoming more 'fearful' now she's older.

"A recent example was when Dan and the kids went paragliding, and whilst I’ve done it before, this time I declined," she penned to her readers. I thought I was declining because I’ve already done it once, but when I actually thought about it, I realised I felt too scared to do it again.

"So, in terms of life goals, I need to stop shutting things down that I attribute to being something my younger self would have done. I need to stop telling myself that those sorts of things are not for me anymore and just open up a little bit more to accepting that I might feel afraid, but I’m going to do it anyway!"

The answer came after Holly what she believes is her biggest achievement in your life so far, and what are goals she'd like to reach in the future. Her response started: "Achievement-wise there are the obvious things like family and children, and there is no doubt that my marriage, my children and my home are my biggest achievements of all. But as far as life goals go, I find that as I get older I get more fearful of things, so I need to keep a check on that."

Holly also shared her biggest wish for her children - Harry, 13, Belle, 11 and Chester, eight - who she shares with TV producer Dan. "My biggest wish for my children is that they grow independently of each other – even of us – and that they are able to convert everything we’ve taught them into their own currency so that they can live life their own way. I just want them to be happy, confident little beings; comfortable in their own bodies; who possess all those things that I hold dear, like kindness and patience."

It comes after Holly gave a rare insight into her life as a mum as she made comments about parenting alongside her husband. "The early Monday morning starts following Dancing on Ice on a Sunday are always a challenge, but it’s getting easier, that’s for sure," she shared, referring to working when she was working on both This Morning from Monday to Thursday and hosting Dancing on Ice alongside Phillip Schofield on a Sunday evening for the first couple of months of the year.

She then shared: "Dan and I have worked really hard with the kids as they’ve grown up, to make sure they aren’t fussy eaters and I’m happy to say there’s very little they won’t eat! When we get the opportunity to go out to a restaurant together, I always feel a little ping of pride when one of them orders something that raises an eyebrow of surprise from the waiter. That said, with Dan’s Italian family heritage, you can’t beat a hearty bowl of pasta at our dining table!"
