Holly Willoughby forced to apologise after swearing on air

Holly Willoughby was forced to apologise to viewers of This Morning today.

Dressed as Wednesday Addams for a Halloween special, Holly was trying out new gadgets with her co-host Phillip Schofield, who was appearing as Uncle Fester. But the TV host got a little too out of her normal character as she dropped a swear word before midday.

As she tried to guess what the gadget she was holding was, Holly was told that she had ran out of time. As she tried to put the contraption down she almost dropped it, as she said: "Oh s***!"

The presenter had instant regret as Phil's eyes widened in shock and Holly's hand flew to cover her mouth. She instantly started to apologise as she repeated: "Sorry... sorry, sorry, sorry."

She added: "Something might just have slipped out. I am so sorry." Phil chimed in as he said: "I'm so sorry. Holly Willoughby may have just swore and for that I can only apologise. She will after the show be hanging in the car park with Matthew Wright."

Holly jokingly added: "It wasn't Holly. It was Wednesday."

But fans on Twitter thought it was one of the best moments of today's show. Lee said: "Holly Willoughby is a potty mouth #ThisMorning." Vicky said: "Holly swearing #ThisMorning has made my morning."

Laura said: "@hollywills channeling Wednesday Adams on guess the gadget, saying S*** funniest thing on #ThisMorning so far." Meanwhile, Rem added: "#ThisMorning @hollywills is really in the s*** for sweating live on tv. It was soo funny and her face was priceless"
