Holly Willoughby 'doesn't believe' Meghan Markle following Kate Middleton 'cold' claim

Holly Willoughby insists she 'doesn't believe' Meghan Markle's after the Duchess made claims about the Royal Family's actions behind closed doors.

The host of This Morning made comments on Friday's episode of the ITV show following the release of 'Harry and Meghan' after the first three parts of the series were released on Netflix on Thursday. One episode included Meghan's story of when she met Prince William and Kate for the first time when attending a dinner with Prince Harry.

The Duchess of Sussex explained: “Even when Will and Kate came over, and I met her for the first time, I remember I was in ripped jeans and I was barefoot. I've always been a hugger. I didn't realise that that is really jarring for a lot of Brits. I guess I started to understand really quickly that the formality on the outside carried through on the inside.”

Holly discussed the episodes with co-host Phillip Scofield and regular guests Carol Vordeman and Gyles Brandreth. And the 41-year-old back was quick to share her feelings, reports The Mirror.

The host pointed to Kate’s ‘warm’ and ‘hands on’ manner with her children as proof she did not believe that to be the case.

She said: “This is the only bit of the whole documentary where I went, ‘Don’t do that’. I just thought by suggesting somebody is cold is a really horrible thing to brush off.

“We don’t know her, but from what we see of her and the way she is with her own children, I think you get a pretty good idea.”

Continuing the discussion, Carol suggested that the series was "made for an American audience", with the former Countdown number cruncher giving note to the "language used".

“It was very much like Notting Hill and everyone speaks like Hugh Grant, acts like Hugh Grant. It was extended, this formality, [Meghan] said ‘a lot of British people are like this’,” she said.

“Well, love, if you go and mix with that kind of person, that’s fine, but if you go up to Manchester and that, everyone’s hugging like crazy.” Carol added.

Holly then replied saying: “I think suggesting that anyone within the Royal Family isn’t a hugger – I don’t believe that. We saw in the footage Prince [King] Charles talking to the kids, being normal. Just because you’re posh doesn’t mean you can’t hug someone. It’s crazy.”

However, Holly explained that the she took no issue with any other part of the series.

The Netflix show is being released in two parts, with the first three episode available now before the second drop on December 15.
