Holly Willoughby has said that her self-esteem was pretty 'low' at the minute as she joked about her pet dog on This Morning. The presenter was back at the helm of the ITV daytime programme on Tuesday (March 7) alongside Phillip Schofield.
The pair kicked off the second show of the week with the latest This Morning's View segment where they were joined live in the studio by Sonia Sodha while Nick Ferrari joined the trio via video link from the LBC studio.
One of the stories being discussed was new research which suggests spending half an hour with dogs a week makes us more successful. A study by pet care retailer Rover has found 88 percent of dog owners have seen a rise in self-esteem since getting their dog, Manchester Evening News reports.

A similar amount of people said the dog gave their motivation a lift while 59 percent said they have higher confidence because of their dog. "A pet is really good for your mental health. You know dogs are just the ultimate givers of unconditional love, aren't they? So yeah it is really good for you, who knew?" Sonia said.
To which Holly, 42, replied: "I see it even with the kids. We got a dog but we weren't a dog family before. But even with the kids, even when they come home from school, whatever has been going on in their day and the moment they are with her you can just see it falling away and forgetting.
"However, Bailey does have an upset tummy at the moment and every morning I come down to the kitchen and there's a little present there for me. So my self-esteem is very low..." As her co-stars laughed she added: "Just saying! So it can go the other way." Philip then replied: "Your rug is taking a bit of a battering isn't it?" to which Holly said: "It is. It certainly is."
Holly's home insight comes after the mum-of-three spoke about her working 'challenge' as well as giving a rare insight into her life as a mum as she made comments about parenting alongside her husband, Dan Baldwin.
"The early Monday morning starts following Dancing on Ice on a Sunday are always a challenge, but it’s getting easier, that’s for sure," she shared in one of her recent Wylde Moon newsletters, referring to working on both This Morning from Monday to Thursday and hosting Dancing on Ice alongside Phillip Schofield on a Sunday evening.
She went on to say: "Dan and I have worked really hard with the kids as they’ve grown up, to make sure they aren’t fussy eaters and I’m happy to say there’s very little they won’t eat!
"When we get the opportunity to go out to a restaurant together, I always feel a little ping of pride when one of them orders something that raises an eyebrow of surprise from the waiter. That said, with Dan’s Italian family heritage, you can’t beat a hearty bowl of pasta at our dining table!"
