Holly Willoughby defended by fans as she opens up on fresh parenting challenge during This Morning absence

Holly Willoughby appears to have been defended by fans after she opened up about her fresh parenting challenge as she looks ahead at 2023. The presenter is still currently absent from her role on This Morning having not returned to the show alongside Phillip Schofield this week.

Viewers of the ITV daytime programme were surprised to see Josie Gibson and Andi Peters at the helm of the show as it returned on Tuesday (January 3) for the first episode of the new year. While Holly and Phillip did appear for a string of pre-recorded episodes last week, the pair haven't hosted the show live since early December.

Phillip, 60, has already revealed that he has returned home from a New Year break to Copenhagen, Denmark, while Holly, 41, has remained largely quiet during her break. However, a photo did appear of the blonde TV beauty on the Instagram account of her brand, Wylde Moon.

It showed the mum-of-three on an earlier ski trip, donning a bright pink beanie hat and matching T-shirt over her thermals, as she tucked into a steaming cheese fondue. The caption read: "Back to reality today! Holly’s shared a look into her 2023 plans which include a lot of reading, cooking, meditation, family walks and journalling."

In her most recent Wylde Moon post, Holly penned a heartfelt note of what she wants for herself in 2023 as well as shared how she felt her family was changing as she faces fresh challenges as a mum to Harry, Belle, and Chester, whom she shares with TV producer husband Dan Baldwin.

"I wanted to dedicate this month’s WYLDE Moonboard to everything I would like more of in 2023. I’m coining these my New Year’s Intentions…like resolutions…but without the pressure," Holly writes in the post before starting with a vow to fill her year with more family walks.

"Family time in general is always top of my list and something Dan [Holly’s husband] and I prioritise above all else," Holly writes. She then pens: "If it’s not technology interrupting time together, or just simply the fact that my kids are growing older and are keen to start to start moving through lines in their own little lanes. It’s sometimes a challenge to achieve that dedicated, quality time together in one space."

Holly also shared how she plans to do more journaling, something her daughter Belle is also getting into. "Something else that I love doing – and something Belle loves doing too – that always seems to fall away as almost everything else takes precedent, is journaling. Journaling for me is an all-round positive experience," Holly writes.

She continues: "When I’m happy and have had a great day, sharing those memories with the paper and knowing they will live there for years to come to look back on and relive is something truly special. On the flip side, when I’m stressed or anxious, writing down my thoughts, feelings, worries, sharing them with the paper and knowing when I close that book I feel that bit lighter is a sense of relief."

But when the post appeared on Wylde Moon's Instagram account, it appeared to attract some negative comments which fans soon defended the popular TV star from. @sallygarvey689 hit back: "Stop it with the negative comments people grow up." @xx_gracesc_xx added: "Can’t wait to read - I’m really interested in finding out about Holly’s 2023 plans! Looking forward to more amazing products from this amazing brand!"
